Matlab / Octave generic linter

A key downside to the Matlab / GNU Octave .m language is the heavy legacy baggage of the language, and the partly incompatible and mutually-exclusive syntax of Matlab vs. GNU Octave .m files. A new and actively developed Matlab / Octave linter written in Python has become available known as MISS_HIT. On the roadmap for this project is syntax-checking for the common and severely restricted subset of the .m language common to Matlab and Octave. MISS_HIT may become a useful and much more powerful alternative to Matlab “checklint()”.
