Smolak Farm, North Andover, MA review

Many come to Smolak Farm for the pumpkin and apple picking–or apple cider doughnuts. There are a few other attractions described below.

Hay Rides

Hay rides are free, and of a good length. I noticed that tree branches sometimes jutted 1-3 feet into the wagon, that could startle or injure someone. I suppose it’s part of the experience, but I think the trees could be trimmed a bit.

The driver I had kept popping the tractor clutch, leading children to topple over. I commented to the tractor driver that they should turn down the throttle a little, or at least release the clutch gradually.

The tractors used for the hay rides:

  • International H
  • John Deere 5303
  • John Deere 2030 w/loader

Corn Maze

$5 corn maze per person adult or child. I felt the corn maze was much too simple, taking 5-10 minutes and mostly just following the main path got you to the end quickly.

Petting zoo

Petting zoo costs $1 or more, “donation”
